The biggest week in the marin football world, where all eight teams of former MCAL will play.

The Mount Tam rivalry has been one of Marin's most closely fought football games in recent years, and if MaxPreps. com's rankings are to be believed, it should be no different this time around. The Red-Tailed Hawks were ranked just ahead of the Giants every week this season until Redwood moved up one spot.

Both teams are coming off tough losses to top Valley League teams. Tam fell to American Canyon, 38-25, and Redwood lost to Casa Grande, 34-0.

The Red Tail Hawks and Giants have split four meetings since the pandemic, with Redwood winning 22-19 in the spring of 2021 and Tam winning 26-23 in the fall of that year. Redwood won 41-14 in 2022, but Tam had the last laugh with a 35-17 victory in the final week of the MCAL.

Tam held Redwood running back Sean Cunneen to 32 yards last season. Cunneen recently ran for 218 yards against Petaluma. Redwood QB Cody Vasquez had 206 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in last season's matchup.

Most of Tam's top weapons have graduated, but WR Timo Ural had five catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. RB Ethan Ku ran for 39 yards.

Tomales (0-5, 0-1 North Central III) at Cornerstone Christian (5-0, 1-0), 4 p. m., Antioch

The Braves are coming off their biggest loss of the season, a 27-8 loss to Round Valley on Sept. 27. Cornerstone Christian was one of four teams in the NCS Division II to advance to the eight-man playoffs two years ago.

The Cougars have been scoring a lot so far this season, but they have allowed at least two touchdowns in every game. Cornerstone Christian has topped that mark in three games this season.

Branson (2-1, 0-0 North Central II) at Swett (1-2, 0-0), 4:30 p. m., Crockett

The Bulls open league play with the benefit of a bye week and the knowledge that Swett has already beaten a team it lost to this season. Branson beat Priory 40-12 in its season opener on Sept. 7.

The Warriors lost to Priory 30-24 on Sept. 27 and picked up their first win of the season last week, 34-32, against the California School for the Deaf.

Branson has a QB Tom Ladner (701 yards, 7TD), WR Mo Jacoby (286 yards, 4TD), RB Colin Bakston (230 scrimmage yards, 5TD), and average 32 points per game.

Archie Williams (3 wins 3 losses, Mountain 1 win 1 loss, NCS82) @ Sun Lafael (3 wins and 2 losses, Mountain 1 win 1 loss, NCS 58th place), 7:00 pm, Sun Lafael

Peregrin Falconsz is trying to defeat Bulldogs this time, following the Saturday match against Terra Linda. Archie Williams and San Lafael divide four matches since the Pandemic, in 2021, two games in 2021 won 14-0 and 29-22, and the Bull Dogs 28-17 and 35 in the past two times. We have won wit h-21.

Burdogs led 14-0 a year ago, but scored 35 out of 42 points and gained the playoffs. Both teams have only three of the five wins required for the playoff qualification, and this game has a significant meaning to fulfill his desire for the posts season.

The most dominant team in MCAL in recent years will challenge the last season's humiliation in the Redwood Empire Adobe area.

Sunmarin won 10-6 in Kentfield, brought Wild Cats in the league match since 2014, acquiring the last title of the MCAL era, and engraved in history.
